Renewing your License
Chiropractors and Naturopaths must apply to renew their license and any applicable permits with the NSCNR each year. NSCNR licensing year runs from January 1 to December 31 each year. All licenses expire on December 31 annually.
Renewal applications are completed entirely through the NSCNR’s online portal between October 1 to November 1 of the preceding calendar year. Any renewal applications completed after November 1 are subject to a $50.00 per week late registration fee. Registrants may also choose to surrender their license if they do not plan to practice after December 31.
All registrants must either renew or surrender their license each year before it expires. If a registrant does not renew or surrender their license by December 31:
- their license and any applicable permits will no longer be valid;
- they cannot practice chiropractic or naturopathy or use the professional title until they are issued a new license;
- they will need to apply for re-licensure; and
- they must pay the reinstatement fee in addition to the re-licensure application fee and any other applicable fee.
Important Dates:
October 1: Annual License and Permit renewals for the following licensing year will be available through the registrant online portal.
November 1: Deadline to submit a completed renewal request. Registrants who do not submit their renewal request or surrender their license by this time must pay a late registration fee of $50.00 per week.
December 31: End of licensing year and deadline for registrants to renew or inform the Registrar of their intent to surrender their license. If not renewed or notice to surrender has not been received, a registrants license and all permits will be revoked effective January 1.
