Concerns and Complaints

The Board of the Nova Scotia Chiropractic and Naturopathic Regulator (NSCNR) takes the responsibility of protecting and serving the public very seriously. We are committed to maintaining a high standard of quality, professional conduct and competency in the practice of chiropractic.

Regulation of health professions is conducted in the public interest. Chiropractic is a self-regulating profession in Nova Scotia since 1972 and Naturopathic medicine was added in 2026. All regulated health professions are currently legislated under the Regulated Health Professions Act (2023). The Nova Scotia Chiropractic and Naturopathic Regulator takes very seriously its primary responsibility in setting and enforcing standards to ensure public safety.

If you would like to know if a disciplinary action applies to a registered Chiropractor or Naturopathic Doctor in Nova Scotia, please refer to our License Verification Register. Conditional, suspended or revoked licensure status is noted for each registrant.  Each registrant’s information link will denote their full regulatory history.

You can verify a license and its status following these simple steps:

  • Scroll to the upper right corner of this website and click on the blue button labelled “License Verification Register”.
  • You will be automatically directed to the full registry where you can search our registrant using a variety of prompts including name, clinic name and disciplinary findings. (NOTE: It may temporarily indicate the NSCC/Nova Scotia College of Chiropractors during the transition to our new portal. Don’t worry, you are in the right place for Naturopathic practitioners as well!)
  • If you want to know if a particular registrant has a Reserved Practice Permit or Chiropractic Specialty designation, search their name and click on their profile. It will be listed in the information section.
  • Registrants with a dark circle containing an exclamation mark by their name have public disciplinary information or conditions of practice noted in their profile.

Professional conduct processes are conducted by panels of both registered practitioners and members of the public. It is an important combination of public representation and perspective as well as profession-specific expertise and experience.

If you would like to discuss a concern or you need additional information about making a complaint or this process, please see the additional information contained on this website, refer to the governing legislation and/or contact the Registrar’s office of the NSCNR.
